focus is what we all need in business
most individuals are not entirely aware of what focus is. what does it have to offer us? how can it be of assistance to us? is it possible to train ourselves to concentrate? focus, confidence, and self-discipline are all intertwined.
we can benefit from learning to focus in a variety of ways. it can assist us in determining what we truly desire in life and in making sound and well-informed decisions. it can also assist us in accepting ourselves just as we are, without feeling compelled to condemn or cast ourselves down in any manner. we can achieve confidence, power, and satisfaction through focusing.
stay on target with a strategy
focus can also help us stay on target and grounded. confidence can be transformed into absolute knowledge, and self-criticism can be transformed into self-love. always remember that you can focus on whatever you choose and that you can focus your thoughts on anything. try it now by focusing on a simple object in front of your eyes, then shifting your attention to your something is not in front or visible to you, let's say your wife's car or your son bike. switch your attention back to a pet and so on.
it's actually that simple to concentrate on whatever you desire. we must all learn to set aside time for the one item on which we want or need to concentrate. it's not so much an issue of "finding the time" to focus as it is of "creating the time." we will be able to focus a lot better on anything we want or need to do if we are ready to make the time. you may wonder how i can focus with four demanding children, three pets, and a new home. easy, when all the kids are in bed and the house is peaceful, i can stay up an extra hour and make the time to focus on what i'm doing with no interruptions.
or else, why not get up a half-hour earlier than usual, before the craziness at home begins? prepare everything for your early morning "concentration time" before you go to bed so you don't have to scramble about looking for it while you're half awake. of course, this necessitates having a strategy in place ahead of time. decide on a time when you will make time and cling to it like glue. allow nothing to distract you from that time.
visualize more, achieve more
ensure you have everything you need in one location, such as a room or a corner of a room where you can sit quietly. turn off the television, unplug the phone, and don't even listen to soft background music. unless you learn to focus, anything happens around you will distract you. it can be tempting to merely go along with the diversions rather than focusing on the eventual goal. remember that if you allow yourself to be distracted, you will lose sight of your objectives. if you don't refine your vision of what you desire, you'll be at the mercy of your surroundings. you must decide exactly what you want when you desire something.
there's no way you'll be able to focus on something if you don't know what you want. so you want to pass that latest professional certification that is important for your career, or you want to pass that crucial school exam. you might desire to publish a blog, create a forum, start a business, educate, or do a variety of other activities. the most important thing is to know that's what you want, and to set high goals for yourself and force yourself to focus on achieving it.
after you've decided what you want, you'll need to figure out why you want it. imagine yourself driving a brand new new motorbike, or confidently talking in front of a large audience. isn't it true that the vision makes you feel good? so that's why you want it; doing what you want to do, being who you want to be, and owning what you want to possess feels good. being able to focus relies heavily on visualization.
it's lot easier to focus on the work of getting there if you can imagine yourself in the place you want to be in. the next step is to figure out how you're going to get your hands on what you desire. what are you willing to give up in order to acquire those excellent achievements? what are you willing to give up in order to establish your own business? what can you do to make your family life more enjoyable and peaceful? sit back and close your eyes, imagining what it would be like to have everything you desire in life, and consider what you are willing to give up to get there. let's say you want a new motor-home for your family vacations but can only obtain one if you sell your shiny motorbike. imagine yourself and your sweetheart snuggled up on the sofa in the new motor-home. what color is it, exactly? is it a large, is it well furnished? ultra-modern? if you concentrate on the motor-home and desire it strongly enough, you will have no problem committing yourself and selling that amazing vintage motorbike you have loved for years in order to make sure this new dream becomes a reality.
you are the only one who can set or remove limits
these are all minor goals that may be accomplished with a little effort, but what if you desire something bigger and better? then you set objectives for yourself. first, pass the certifications; then, if you've accomplished that, go get the school exam. after that, you get a great motorbike. continue to set goals; as soon as you achieve the first, move on to the next, being focused on what you want at all times. reaching that first goal will give you a huge boost of confidence, which will make it a lot simpler to move on to the next one. the more goals you achieve, the more confident you will become in yourself, which will fuel the achievement of the next goal, and the next, until there are no limits to what you can achieve.
